We fundraise locally to pay for our project work.
The Fundraising committee assists with the organizing of fundraising events to bring money into the Club.
Currently our Club's fundraising efforts focus on three main events:
- Annual Rotary Golf Charity Classic (a fun tournament held in June)
- Canada Day Pancake Breakfast (by donation) at Centennial Park before the parade
- Annual Rotary Festival of Trees (December), including the popular component 'Breakfast with Santa'.
Our annual fundraising events go towards assisting local youth, senior, vocational and community events and groups as well as international projects.
The projects we fund are many, but here are some examples:
- Literacy and youth on the Morley reserve
- Grants to local youth sports and community programs of all kinds
- School awards and bursaries
- Youth Adventures in Citizenship (for youth)
- Youth Adventures in Technology
- Worthy projects in developing countries by organizations such as Cause Canada and the Hearts & Hands Foundation
