About the Rotary Club of Canmore

People Meeting People Helping People

The Rotary Club of Canmore, Alberta is non-profit group composed of members who provide humanitarian service and help to build goodwill and peace in the world. Our main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and around the globe.

Founded in 1991, the Rotary Club of Canmore has raised more than one million dollars to support a wide variety of local and international projects - each serving to raise the profile of Canmore internationally, as well as help individuals and local community groups tackle activities which contribute to the quality of life in the Bow Valley and in many communities in developing countries.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Everyone is welcome in Rotary.

Rotarians Strive to Follow the Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do is a test used by Rotarians world-wide as a moral code for personal and business relationships. The test can be used in almost any aspect of life.

The Rotary Four-Way Test

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The Rotarian Code of Conduct

As a Rotarian, I will:

  1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in my personal and professional life
  2. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupations with respect
  3. Use my professional skills through Rotary to mentor young people, help those with special needs, and improve people’s quality of life in my community and in the world
  4. Avoid behavior that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians
  5. Help maintain a harassment-free environment in Rotary meetings, events, and activities; report any suspected harassment; and help ensure non-retaliation to those individuals that report harassment
